Staying in Place

The Staying in Place Program is an innovative community approach that is making it possible for older people in rural and regional areas of Western Australia to stay living in their own homes, in their community.

It is a model that draws on 'locals supporting locals' through coordination from a local group and oversight of an approved aged care provider.

The Bruce Rock CRC has partnered with InCasa Country to bring this offering to seniors in

Bruce Rock and the surrounding areas.

“Many of us would prefer to live in our own homes as we age. But as we all know, some tasks (like housework and driving) become more challenging with time.  We need more help, but we are reluctant to ask our busy children who have families of their own.  There is also the tendency for us to become isolated living by ourselves...and less social.”
